Camping along the Sand Mountain Pipeline Road is allowed at eight numbered sites, each with a steel fire ring.
They go first come, first served. You can stay 14 days in any 28.
The Sand Mountain Open Off-Highway Vehicle Area is right there.
The St. George Field Office manages the sites, working with the Washington County Water Conservancy District.
Coming from the south, most vehicles with medium clearance will get in. Coming from Waddy’s Corral needs four-wheel drive.
The restrooms are just north of the camping area, along the Sand Mountain Pipeline Road, at 37.1053, -113.4327.
Fire restrictions change, and checking the current ones is on you. Campfires go in the steel fire rings and nowhere else. Never leave one unattended, and make sure it is dead out before you go.

You can camp on public land here for up to 14 days in any 28 days.
Getting there
The Southern Parkway is also UT State Hwy 7. East of St. George, take exit 10 off it for Warner Valley Road. Go east 1.4 miles, then turn left, north, onto the unmarked Sand Mountain Pipeline Road. The first of eight campsites is 3.3 miles along.
