About this place
Camping in the Hurricane Cliffs Recreation Area is limited to 56 marked sites. Each site has a numbered placard and a metal fire ring.
Sites go first come, first served. You can stay 14 days in any 28.
Every site works for a tent. Not every site will take an RV or a trailer, so ask the St. George Field Office about conditions and access.
Park, camp and keep your activity on hard ground, because the plants and the fragile soil crust here do not recover quickly.
Local roads turn impassable in wet weather. If the roads are muddy and slippery the trails are too, so turn back if your tires are leaving a visible rut.
Restrooms are at the Sheep Bridge Trailhead, the Jem Trailhead and the Virgin Dam Trailhead. Use those, or a portable toilet at your site.
Fire restrictions change, and checking the current ones is on you. Campfires go in the steel fire rings and nowhere else. Never leave one unattended, and make sure it is dead out before you go.

How long you can stay
You can camp on public land here for up to 14 days in any 28 days.
Getting there
The way in depends on which campsite you want. All of them are reached from Utah State Hwy 59 and State Hwy 9, east of Hurricane. There are camping information stations locally with maps showing each one.
