About this place
Windy Point sits along the crest of the Cerbat Mountains, high above the old mining town of Chloride. It is high and open.
It stands at 6,000 feet, in woodland of pinyon pine and juniper. The views across the valley and out to distant ranges are long ones.
There is a campground here. People picnic, watch birds, drive off-highway vehicles and hunt.
The Cherum Peak Trail is nearby if you want to walk.

Getting there
From Kingman, go 18 miles north on Highway 93 to the Big Wash Road turnoff. The Bureau of Land Management maintains that road. The turnoff is 1.5 miles north of the State Road 62 turnoff for Chloride. Windy Point Recreation Site is 11 miles up the unpaved Big Wash Road from Highway 93. High clearance vehicles are strongly advised, and travel trailers are a bad idea on this road.
