Red Canyon runs south, cutting a narrow deep gorge through rolling plateau country until it joins the Owyhee River.
The walls are basalt and rhyolite, like the other canyons in the Owyhee system. Thick growth lines the water.
It is good walking and backpacking country. There is no boating.
