About this place
There are four basic campsites along Morgan Creek. The mix of ground here makes fine songbird country.
Sparrows, thrashers and wrens flit about in the sagebrush, while juncos, kinglets and nutcrackers keep to the forest.
The big game includes bighorn sheep, pronghorn antelope and mule deer.
Carry on along Morgan Creek Road to reach the trailhead into the Frank Church River of No Return Wilderness.
There is a restroom and drinking water. There are no electric hook-ups, and cell service is patchy.

The roads around this place are not maintained for a regular car. That comes from the Bureau of Land Management, who record the kind of vehicle that uses each route. Those records cover the roads nearby. They do not cover the last stretch in to the campsite, and nobody has checked that part. Treat this as a warning. We are not promising what you will find when you get there. If you have driven it, tell us what it was like and we will say so here.
Getting there
About 10 miles north of Challis. From Challis, go about 5 miles north on Highway 93 and turn left, heading west, onto Morgan Creek Road. That is also Forest Road 057. Follow it about 4 miles and the campground is on your left.
